Farke provides injury updates ahead of Swansea game

Leeds United are back in action on Sunday following the international break when they make the trip to Wales to play Swansea.

A growing number of players for the Whites were missing due to injury or suspension. Thankfully for Leeds, manager Daniel Farke was able to provide positive updates on a few key players.

Ramazani returns to team training

Largie Ramazani who has impressed ever since he broke into the team has returned to full team training and could make the bench for Sunday’s game.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Daniel Farke said:

“Largie joined us for the first time in parts of team training during the week. Obviously, next week with the three games within six days will come a bit too soon to be available for the starting lineup but he could be a topic for the squad for some shorter appearances.

We have to keep in mind he was out for six weeks and just parts of team training so far, he could become a topic for the upcoming three games within six days and potentially for Sunday, we will decide after the last training session tomorrow,”

There was more good news for United when Farke revealed that none of the players who went away on international duty had sustained any injuries.

Max Wober who has been out of action since August even managed to get some minutes for Austria during the international break as he nears a return to full fitness.

“I was happy he played but a bit concerned that he played 90 minutes if I’m honest because it was straight out of the cold and straight away he played 90 minutes!

We had to look after him a little bit more during this week because his knee reacted a little bit, but I think everything’s okay and he’s available,” Farke said.

Schmidt sidelined

It wasn’t all good news for Leeds regarding injuries as it was revealed that Isaac Schmidt will be sidelined after having hernia surgery.

Minutes have been hard to come by for Schmidt since he arrived in the summer and with Junior Firpo being ruled out through suspension, it seemed to be an ideal time for Schmidt to get his first start for the club.

“Some bad news with Isaac Schmidt, he needed a little hernia surgery during this international break so he will definitely miss out on the game on Sunday. I hope to have him back at some point next week, back in training,” Farke said.
